Congress to hold challenges in Himachal over Rafale deal on Aug 2

Shimla, Jul 28 The Congress will hold dissents over the issue of Rafale deal on August 2 in all the 12 area central station of Himachal Pradesh, HPCC president Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said.

He said the Congress would submit notices to appointee officials for the sake of the president, whereby Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be asked to disclose to the country why his administration paid over the top cost for the buy of warrior streams when contrasted with a similar arrangement struck by the past Manmohan Singh-drove UPA government.

Reiterating the allegations levelled by Congress chief Rahul Gandhi in Parliament during debate on no-confidence motion, Sukhu stated, "The country needs to know why Modi government paid Rs 60,145 crores for the buy of 36 Rafale fighter planes while, UPA-II had struck a deal of just Rs 18,940 crores for the same."

The Congress has been focusing on the legislature over the fighter jet deal, alleging wrongdoings in it. The government has strongly rejected the charge.
