P. Chidambaram: Congress can win 3 times more seats in 2019

New Delhi, Jul 22 Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram on Sunday communicated certainty that the gathering can win three times more seats in the 2019 general decisions by additionally boosting its essence in 12 states where it as of now has a solid a dependable balance. The Congress at present has 48 members from Parliament in the Lok Sabha.

Addressing the Congress Working Committee (CWC) in the Parliament Annexe Building here, Chidambaram underlined the need to reinforce the gathering's essence in the 12 states to help up the numbers.

In rest of the states, the senior leader pitched for aligning with regional parties to further improve the party's position, sources told.

Giving a clarion call, the party president urged the Congress people "to rise and battle for India's oppressed."

The CWC meeting comes just a few days after an united Opposition faced a decisive defeat from the decision Narendra Modi government amid the storm session of Parliament in Lok Sabha on Friday.
