New Delhi, Jul 25 The opposition to the appointment of a former Supreme Court judge who was a part of a seat that had "diluted" a law on atrocities against SCs STs as National Green Tribunal executive, today reverberated in Parliament with the Congress saying it demonstrated the BJP-drove government's help to his judgement.
The leader of Congress Mallikarjun Kharge and his party associate K Suresh brought the issue up in Lok Sabha amid the Zero Hour, with the last claiming that Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel was near a conservative outfit and had given the judgement under its pressure.
The government has "rewarded" him for this, Suresh guaranteed, as BJP's Anurag Thakur protested his remarks.
Goel was one of the two apex court judges on a seat that presented a few protects in the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
