Rahul Gandhi thanks DMK president Stalin for support on Women's Reservation Bill

July 18 Congress chief Rahul Gandhi has thanked DMK working president MK Stalin for the latter’s support to the Women's Reservation Bill. Rahul said that Stalin had spoked like "a genuine pioneer and incredible child of Tamil Nadu", and asked different gatherings to hold hands to help the bill in Parliament.

"Thank you @mkstalin. Spoken like a true leader and an incredible child of Tamil Nadu. Ladies are the way to the quickened improvement of India. The Women's Reservation Bill recognises this reality. It's the ideal opportunity for every single political gathering to meet up to help this bill in Parliament," said the Congess president while retweeting Stalin's post.

On Tuesday, Stalin had taken to the microblogging site to embrace Rahul Gandhi's plea to Prime Minister Narendra Modi-drove NDA government at the Centre to pass the Women's Reservation

"DMK President @kalaignar89 has always advocated for more representation of ladies in elected bodies. For my party, I express our wholehearted help to @RahulGandhi in his endeavors and inclination @PMOIndia to guarantee early entry of the Women's Reservation Bill," Stalin had tweeted.

Stalin's tweet came because of a post by Rahul Gandhi wherein he had asked the legislature to pass the Women's Reservation Bill, guaranteeing "unlimited help" by the Congress party. He had additionally shared a letter he had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the same.

Meanwhile, the government has also reacted to Rahul Gandhi's demand with a letter from Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. In the letter to the Congress boss, the BJP leader offered a "new deal" to help the women. He said that the Congress and the BJP should hold hands to bring the Women's Reservation Bill and also the Triple Talaq Bill.

Prasad had, however, added that the previous Congress-drove UPA government had stalled down the Women's Reservation Bill for whatever length of time that three years, pointed that the BJP had supported the same.
