Prime Minister Modi strolls up to Manmohan in RS, shakes hands

New Delhi, Jan 5 Prime Minister Narendra Modi today shook hands with former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh not long after the Rajya Sabha was dismissed sine kick the bucket.

The warm "handshake" came scarcely weeks after the twosome had been secured an unpleasant war of words over Gujarat elections.

When Chairman M Venkiah Naidu dismissed the House sine bite the dust and 'Vande Mataram' was rendered, Modi was seen moving towards the resistance seats shaking hands with a few members, including his predecessor.

He achieved the seat of the previous head, shook hands with him for a long while and addressed him.

Among others with whom the Prime Minister was seen shaking hands were Deputy Chairman P J Kurien and veteran Congress pioneer Karan Singh, who was said goodbye by the Upper House today as his residency closes on January 27.

The show of sincerity between the occupant and the previous chief takes after an uncommon line that broke out a month ago after Modi implied that Manmohan Singh had conspired with Pakistan in the Gujarat surveys and last hitting back saying a "hazardous point of reference" was being set by such allegations and looking for seeking apology.

Both the Houses had seen stormy dissents over the issue with an inflexible restriction looking for conciliatory sentiment from Modi for his announcement amid Gujarat survey battle and the BJP adhering to its point that PM would not apologise.
