Chandigarh, Jan 20 Cold weather conditions won in many parts of Punjab and Haryana, with Admapur in Jalandhar being the coldest in the district with a low of 2.1 degrees Celsius.
Chandigah, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, overcame frosty climate at 6.9 degrees Celsius, one degree above ordinary, an authority of the Meteorological department said here.
Among different places in Haryana, Ambala, Hisar and Karnal experienced chilly climate at 8.6, 5.4 and 5.5 degrees Celsius separately.
Narnaul, Bhiwani and Rohtak recorded their base temperatures at 5, 5.8 and 7 degrees Celsius individually.
In Punjab, Amritsar settled with a low of 4.6 degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded their base temperatures at 7.7 and 9.1 degrees Celsius individually, up to three degrees above typical.
Pathankot, Halwara, Bathinda and Gurdaspur experienced cool climate at 5.4, 4.9, 5.4 and 6.3 degrees Celsius individually.
The MeT department official said the climate was clear in many parts of Punjab and Haryana.
