Bhiwandi (Maharashtra), Jan 17 A Bhiwandi Court on Wednesday requested Congress president Rahul Gandhi to be available in court on April 23, for encircling of charges against him in a maligning case for saying "RSS people killed Gandhi".

The court set a new date as Gandhi was absent in court today and the court permitted an exception from court application exhibited by his lawyer.

A local Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) functionary, Rajesh Kunte, had documented the body of evidence against Gandhi for asserting at a race rally on March 6, 2014, that the conservative association had executed Mahatma Gandhi.

Gandhi had in September 2016, pulled back his request of documented in the summit court, testing the case and said he would confront the trial.

He communicated his availability to confront the trial after the best court declined to meddle with the criminal procedures pending against him before the trial court.
