Government declares nine new savvy urban areas

New Delhi, Jan 20 Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has declared the name of nine more smart cities, taking the aggregate to 99.

The mission of hundred smart cities was declared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June 2015.

Silvassa in Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli has topped the rundown of winning urban areas in this round of competition.

Alternate urban communities incorporate Erode in Tamil Nadu, Diu in Union Territory of Daman and Diu, Biharsharif in Bihar, Bareilly, Saharanpur and Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh, Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh and Kavaratti in Lakshadweep.

Instructions journalists in New Delhi, the priest stated, the nine smart cities have proposed a speculation of 12 thousand 824 crore rupees to create 409 activities.

He stated, with the choice of these nine cities, the aggregate proposed interest in 99 keen smart cities will be Rs 2,03,979 crore.
