New Delhi, Jan 8 The Delhi government has guaranteed the National Green Tribunal that there would be no felling of trees without imperative authorization for doing redevelopment work at Pragati Maidan display ground here.
The Public Works Department of the Delhi government told a seat headed by acting NGT Chairperson Justice U D Salvi that trimming of trees would be completed simply after endorse is gotten from the competent authorities.
"The guidance showing up for the Delhi government presents that there might be no tree cutting in the said zone without the consent allowed by the tree officer, South Division, Tughlakabad, New Delhi. He additionally presents that the respondent no 1 (Delhi govt) might stay bound by this accommodation," the bench said.
The India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) is wanting to change Pragati Maidan into a world-class tradition focus.
The proposed design also includes interventions to ease activity in and around Pragati Maidan, including a six-path isolated passage associating Mathura Road and Ring Road crosswise over Pragati Maidan and influencing Mathura Road to flag free through U-turns/trams at vital intersections for better access to the complex.
The presentation cum-tradition complex will have a storm cellar stopping of 4,800 vehicles.
The council was hearing a supplication recorded by National Sports Club of India claiming that the Delhi government was neglectfully cutting trees for the redevelopment work.
