Xi Jinping: India, Pakistan entry into SCO expanded potential for collaboration

Beijing, May 23 Chinese President Xi Jinping has said with the entry of India and Pakistan, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has increased more potential for collaboration and more desires from the international group.

In his deliver to the representatives to the 13th meeting of Security Council Secretaries of the SCO here yesterday, Xi said maintaining regional security and steadiness has been the top priority of the coalition since it was established.

"The SCO members have fought the 'three evil forces' of terrorism, dissidence and fanaticism; kept the flood of negative impacts from hot issues; and made vital commitments to keeping territorial peace, improvement and flourishing," Xi was cited as saying by the state-run China Daily.

Xi brought up that when the SCO acknowledged Pakistan and India a year ago as new individuals, it increased more potential for collaboration and more desires from the global group.

Deputy National Security Adviser Rajinder Khanna, Pakistan's NSA Nasser Khan Janjua along with top security officials of the SCO part nations approached Xi after the finish of their two-day meeting here yesterday.

The security officials met in front of the SCO summit in the Chinese city of Qingdao to be hung on June 9-10. Head administrator Narendra Modi is booked to participate in the summit.

It will be the main summit of the SCO after India and Pakistan were conceded into the alliance a year ago.

The SCO, in which China plays an influential role, is comprised of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India and Pakistan.

Khanna, who is also the Secretary of the National Security Council Secretariat, today approached Xi along with other Secretaries of National Security Councils attending the meeting.

In his address to the SCO security officials, Xi said the member countries have extended regions of collaboration and enriched their involvement in cooperation.

"Numerous challenges remain, including the 'three evil forces' in addition to sedate pirating and cross-border organised crime, every one of which undermines the locale. The risks require SCO members to handle the issues appropriately through right judgements," he said.

The SCO members should to maintain the key heading of security collaboration, keep on boosting common vital trust, upgrade coordination of strategy, maintain equity and mutually push the determination of provincial hot issues through political and discretionary measures, Xi said.

Xi called on the other SCO members to develop their ability for joint security activities and assemble an effective law-requirement collaboration arrange.

China will keep on integrating its national security with local security, work with SCO members to assemble another sort of international relations with highlights of common regard, equity and win-win participation; and push to manufacture a group of shared future for humankind, Xi said.

The SCO security authorities amid their gathering talked about with Xi issues like battling terrorism and the "three evil forces", beefing up information security and maintaining social stability, the report said.

China's Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi who managed the SCO security authorities meeting told columnists that the delegates achieved important consensuses during the meeting.

The significant sides have consented to submit such reports as improving cooperation in battling the "three evil forces" to the SCO summit in Qingdao for further approval, he said.
