Cauvery river water: Kumaraswamy requests that Rajinikanth visit Karnataka

Hassan, May 21 After actor turned-politician Rajinikanth requested Karnataka to release Cauvery river water for Tamil Nadu, Karnataka Chief Minister-designate HD Kumaraswamy on Monday welcomed the genius to the state to see the states of stores, where water isn't adequate.

"I have welcomed Rajinikanth to come here and take a gander at the state of our stores, water isn't adequate. I am certain he will comprehend," Kumaraswamy said.

Supposedly, Rajinikanth had asked the new government in Karnataka to release to Tamil Nadu its offer of Cauvery stream water as ordered by the Supreme Court verdict.

Kumaraswamy on May 27, was welcomed by Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala to shape the legislature in the state, after Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) three-day-old chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa ventured down in front of the floor test in the state assembly.

While Kumaraswamy was earlier anticipated that would confirm as Karnataka Chief Minister on May 21, the ceremony later got pushed to May 23 because of the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
