Lalu Prasad raced to hospital, discharged after a few hours

Patna, May 19 Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad was raced to a hospital here today after he griped of vertigo, breathing issues and uneasiness.

He was discharged following a few hours. The former Bihar chief minister would visit Mumbai one week from now and after that Bengaluru for further treatment, his family doctor said.

Prasad, who is serving sentences in three fodder scam cases in a Ranchi jail, is out on a six-week provisional bail granted by the Jharkhand High Court on medical grounds.

"The former Bihar chief minister was conceded here, following complaints of vertigo, because of which he had fallen at home. He also complained of breathing issues and uneasiness. He has completely been analyzed by our authorities. His records demonstrate that he experiences various sicknesses like diabetes, hypertension and kidney issues," Manish Mandal, medicinal director at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), told reporters.

The RJD supremo spent about two or three hours at the hospital before being discharged. He was gone by senior party colleague Abdul Bari Siddiqui.

Afterward, Prasad's family doctor S K Sinha told reporters that the RJD chief was released as his condition was steady.

On Tuesday, Prasad would visit Mumbai, where he had experienced a sidestep medical procedure a couple of years back, Sinha stated, including that after discussions with specialists in Mumbai, he would leave for Bengaluru for the treatment of his kidney issue.

The RJD chief had been in prison since December 23, when he was sentenced for a situation identified with fake withdrawal of cash from the Deoghar treasury in the 1990s, when he was the main priest of unified Bihar. He was sentenced in two more fodder scam cases while he was in prison.

Weakness had prompted Prasad being moved from the Hotwar imprison in Ranchi to the RIMS doctor's facility, from where he was taken to the AIIMS in Delhi for advance treatment. He was discharged from the AIIMS following a month in the midst of solid challenges by the RJD supremo himself and his party colleagues.

Prasad had come to Patna a week ago on a three-day parole to go to the marriage of his senior child Tej Pratap Yadav, while a choice on his provisional bail was pending.

The bail was allowed to him while he was in Patna. After the expiry of the parole, Prasad had come back to Ranchi on Monday and spent two or three days in prison, before being discharged in the wake of outfitting bonds and sureties.
