Kumaraswamy guaranteed that the BJP offered his MLAs Rs 100 crore

Bengaluru, May 16 As Karnataka tossed a cracked command in the get together, Janata Dal Secular (JDS) leader HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday helped the people to remember the 'Task Lotus' that was done in 2008. Kumaraswamy guaranteed that the BJP offered his MLAs Rs 100 crore in influences to crush positions and spirit the BJP in forming a government in Karnataka.

"Our MLAs were offered Rs 100 crore by the BJP to break away. I need to know whether this is dark or white cash. The JDS-Congress consolidate has 116 MLAs. The BJP is attempting to abuse its energy being at the Centre and form its government through horsetrading," he said.

In the 2008 Karnataka Assembly elections, the BJP turned into the single-largest party but fell short of a majority by just three seats. It eventually formed the government however was blamed for enjoying a notorious political move code-worded 'Operation Lotus'. BJP's adversaries guarantee "Operation Lotus" was started by the then BJP chief minister BS Yeddyurappa where he professedly picked up the help of some opposition party MLAs using cash and power.

In 2018, as well, the condition is relatively comparable with a same key players - BJP, Congress and JDS - wrangling for power and Yeddyurappa yet again being at the centrestage.

Claiming that JDS-Congress ought to be welcomed by the Governor to shape the administration, Kumaraswamy stated, "without the numbers how can they (BJP) form the government".

He also dismissed altogether the possibility of forming a coalition government with the BJP. "I am will meet the senator with the state Congress president and formally stake claim to form the government," he said.

Meanwhile, the BJP has rejected Kumaraswamy's charges terming them "imaginary". "This (discuss) Rs 100 crore, Rs 200 crore is imaginary. The BJP isn't doing this. We are not in the propensity for working on horsetrading. This is the sort of politics JD(S) and Congress do. We are passing by the administer book and we will form the government," Union minister Prakash Javadekar said.

There are reports that the Congress has booked a resort in Bengaluru for its winning MLAs to keep the BJP from poaching them. The booking has supposedly been done in the Eagleton resort in Bengaluru.

Karnataka delivered a hung Assembly on Tuesday with no party getting a clear majority to form government in the state. While BJP developed as the single-biggest gathering, winning 104 seats, the Congress and the Janata Dal Secular stood second and third with wins on 78 and 38 seats separately. Indeed, even before full outcomes could come in, extraordinary political conference started with the Congress and the JDS announcing that they would mutually form the government in Karnataka.

In any case, the single largest party declined to move, and at last both the sides met Governor Vajubhai Vala and staked cases to frame the administration. As the Governor is yet to give his choice on the issue, it's relied upon to be one more day of the race to Vidhan Soudha.
