Nepali Prime Minister Oli to visit China next month

Kathmandu, May 22 Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to visit China on a five-day visit starting June 19.

This is Prime Minister Oli's second remote visit since accepting office on February 15.

On May 17, the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu had formally proposed Oli's visit to China.

As per Kathmandu Post, aside from Beijing, the Chinese side has suggested that Prime Minister Oli visit both the Sichuan Province and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong visited Tibet in connection to the visit. She met with the Foreign Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi in Kathmandu a week ago to talk about the itinerary and agenda of the visit.

During his previous visit to China, Prime Minister Oli marked the Transit and Transport Agreement. A convention for the arrangement is expected to be marked this time.

This Nepal-China visit comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to Nepal last week.
