Bengaluru, May 15 The Congress has declared to support the Janata Dal (Secular) to form the next government in Karnataka.
Addressing to media people here, senior Congress pioneer Ghulam Nabi Azad stated, "We had a telephonic discussion with Deve Gowda ji and Kumaraswamy. They have acknowledged our offer of support. The JD (S) will head the legislature. Ideally, we will be as one."
He also said according to the trends and results, the BJP will fall short of the majority and the Congress, JD(S) and others together will have the enchantment number. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot and other Karnataka Congress leaders were also present.
"Both Congress and JD (S) leadership will meet the Governor at night to stake claim to from the government and we will give letters of support," Azad said.
This new political development has emerged after the quantities of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) began to drop from 115, which was a majority number.
