New Delhi, May 22 Days after Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik said that former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi was not engaged with Bofors scam, a petitioner in the case on Tuesday asked that the Malik unveil the names of other charged for the situation.
"Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik on May 18 said that Rajiv Gandhi was honest in Bofors scam, yet three or four people surrounding him were included. So I have written a letter to him expressing that you should divulge those names in national intrigue," solicitor Ajay Agarwal said.
On May 18, the Bihar Governor said that Rajiv Gandhi was a 'decent and legit' individual and some different Congress leaders were allegedly involved in the case.
A Delhi's Court on May 11 heard the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) supplication looking for course to permit a further test into the Bofors case.
The Rs. 64-crore Bofors scam, irelating to alleged payment of kickbacks in the procurement of howitzer artillery guns, dates back to 1980s and 1990s, when the Congress was in power under Rajiv Gandhi authority.
The then Central Government had supposedly marked a 1.4-billion dollar safeguard manage Swedish arms producer Bofors for the offer of 410 field howitzer weapons and a supply contract twice that amount.
