राष्ट्रपति भवन के दरबार हॉल में एक संक्षिप्त समारोह में राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद ने मिश्रा को पद की शपथ दिलाई।

वह अक्टूबर 2011 में सर्वोच्च न्यायालय में पदोन्नत होने से पहले पटना उच्च न्यायालय और दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय के मुख्य न्यायाधीश थे।

1977 में एक वकील के रूप में अपने नामांकन के बाद, न्यायमूर्ति मिश्रा उड़ीसा उच्च न्यायालय में संवैधानिक, सिविल, आपराधिक, राजस्व, सेवा और बिक्री कर के मामलों में अभ्यास किया।

मध्य प्रदेश उच्च न्यायालय में अंतरण करने से पहले उन्हें 17 जनवरी, 1 99 6 को उड़ीसा उच्च न्यायालय के एक अतिरिक्त न्यायाधीश के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया था। वह 1 9 दिसंबर 1 99 7 को स्थायी न्यायाधीश बने

न्यायमूर्ति मिश्रा वर्तमान में कावेरी और कृष्णा नदी के जल विवादों, बीसीसीआई सुधारों और सहारा मामले को सुनते हुए एक बेंच पर अध्यक्षता कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने बेंच की अध्यक्षता में देश के सिनेमाघरों में राष्ट्रीय गान के अनिवार्य गायन के आदेश को पारित किया।

वह बेंच का भी हिस्सा था, जिसने 16 दिसंबर, 2012 के गैंगरेप केस में अपराधियों को दी गई मौत की सजा को बरकरार रखा था।

At a brief ceremony in the Darbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhawan, President Ramnath Kovind controlled the pledge of office to Misra.

After his enrolment as a supporter in 1977, Justice Misra honed in sacred, common, criminal, income, administration and sales tax matters in the Orissa High Court.

He was appointed as an additional judge of the Orissa High Court on January 17, 1996, before his transfer to the Madhya Pradesh High Court. He turned into a lasting judge on December 19, 1997.

Justice Misra is as of now managing a bench hearing the Cauvery and Krishna stream water debate, BCCI changes and Sahara case among others. He headed the seat that passed the request for compulsory singing of the national anthem in cinema halls across the country.
