London comes to Kolkata this Durga Puja

At least two understood puja councils in the city have picked London as the topic of the this year's Puja festivity.

"In our little space we intend to present a cut of London where the Big Ben and the Westminister, two London symbols, will be reproduced to give the guests a vibe of the place," Dey said.

He said that the London road reproduction would likewise help spread Mamata Banerjee's message of changing Kolkata, once the second city in the British empire, into a London.

Dey said the symbol would be produced using mahogany wood, dokra and metal by craftsmans from Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts.

The chief idol producer being from Siliguri in the fields and the artisans from the hills, which are in turmoil over the interest for a separate state, this would convey a solid message of solidarity, Dey accepted.

The chief minister is relied upon to initiate the puja, Puja ommittee chairman, former West Bengal minister and Trinamool Congress pioneer Madan Mitra, says.

Upon the arrival of the inaguruation, the CM will likewise hold a video meeting with the puja coordinators of "London Sharad Utsav" held at Cambridge University.

Another group puller puja board of the city, Santosh Mitra Square will likewise make the forecourt of their Puja pandal look like an open square in London.

The pandal will have a customary look finish with a huge crystal fixture and conventional improvements.

The icon will don a conventional look with the saree of Goddess Durga made completely of gold with zari work. The dresses of alternate icons and Mahisasura, the evil spirit, will likewise be made of gold, to be created by fashion designer Agnimitra Paul.
