India beat Austria 4-3 to end Europe visit on a high

Amstelveen (Netherlands), Aug 17 Ramandeep Singh and Chinglensana Singh Kangujam struck twice to control the Indian men's hockey group to an electrifying 4-3 prevail upon Austria in their last experience of the Europe Tour here.

Double goals from Ramandeep (25th minute, 32nd) and Chinglensana (37th, 60th) helped India end the tour with three wins and two loses.

For Austria, Oliver Binder (fourteenth), Michael Korper (53rd) and Patrick Schmidt (55th) sounded the board.

After two progressive wins against World No.4 The Netherlands, India made a steady start begin against Austria. While they kept the vast majority of the ball possession, penetrating into the striking circle was hard to come by.

Truth be told, it was Austria who took an early lead through Oliver Binder's objective in the 14th minute to end the first quarter 1-0.

India, in any case, presented appropriate reparations in the second quarter when they won a PC in the 25th moment. An astute variety saw rebound man Amit Rohidas pass the ball to Ramandeep Singh who diverted the ball into the hover to level the scores.

The 10-minute halftime break saw India comeback into the game as a stronger team with better assault. They improved circle infiltrations and a splendid achievement came in when Ramandeep scored a romping field goal in the 32nd minute.

It was a turn around hit from the highest point of circle which flew past the Austrian goalkeeper to give India a 2-1 lead. India found another opportunity to score when Mandeep Singh helped win a PC through a stick check.

Yet, the open door ran out of order with the ball hitting the cross bar. Be that as it may, another open door made by Mandeep was effectively changed over by Vice Captain Chinglensana in the 37th moment through a heavenly variety by drag-glimmer Varun Kumar.

Going into the last 15 minutes, India had an agreeable 3-1 lead. Be that as it may, a decided Austria put one past the India goalkeeper when they won a PC and Michael Korper changed over it effectively in the 53rd moment to set up a close finish.

In spite of the fact that India had won a PC just minutes previously, on account of forward Gurjant Singh, injector Manpreet Singh sent the ball somewhat wide.

With barely eight minutes left, forward Lalit Upadhyay found a great opportunity to score but his strike was splendidly spared by the Austrian goalkeeper.

Austria at that point pushed India on the back foot when they scored in the 55th moment through Patrick Schmidt to level 3-3.

It was a stense final few minutes with India pushing hard for a goal. With only 10 seconds left for the final hooter, Chinglensana scored a staggering objective when Ramandeep made a brilliant circle penetration to find Gurjant Singh.

A cross hit by Gurjant saw Chinglensana divert the ball into the objective and seal the match with winning focuses.

India will come back from the Europe Tour tomorrow.
