Srinagar, Aug 19 Security forces today launched multiple cordon and search operations spread crosswise over 10 villages of Shopian region in south Kashmir as part of the most recent hostile against militancy, authorities said.
The security work force cordoned off Dangam, Wangam, Zainapora, Mantribug and a few other adjoining villages following data about nearness of militants in the area, a police official said.
He said searches were in progress yet "no contact has yet been set up with the militants" in these villages.
The authority said cordon and search operations were additionally in advance in five different areas in south Kashmir, outside Shopian district.
