Central Cabinet approves revision of pay, allowances of LGs

New Delhi, Apr 11 The Central cabinet has given its approval for revision of pay and stipends of Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories.

The hiked salary will be executed from the period beginning from January 1, 2016.

"The Cabinet has approved the proposal for expanding the pay and allowances of Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories with effect from January 1, 2016 from Rs. 80,000 every month in addition to dearness remittance, sumptuary recompense at the rate of Rs. 4,000 every month and nearby recompenses to Rs. 2,25,000 or more dearness remittance, sumptuary stipend at the rate of Rs. 4,000 every month and local allowances at an same rate from appropriate to the officers of the rank of Secretary to the Govt. of India," read a goverment release.

The pay and allowances of Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories was last modified with the endorsement of the Cabinet with impact from January 1, 2006 from Rs. 26,000 (fixed) every month to Rs.80,000 (fixed) every month in addition to dearness recompense, sumptuary allowance at the rate of Rs.4,000/ - every month and local allowances.
