New Delhi, Apr 24 No joint explanation or dispatch will be issued after Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold informal talks, with Chinese President Xi Jinping on April 27-28 in Wuhan city, in front of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in June.
This is the first time in the history of China that its leader is engaging in a informal talk format.
As per the sources, the informal talks will be expansive based and larger and no particular issues will be examined.
The thought is to open strategic communication channel at highest level.
On Sunday, China's foreign minister Wang Yi, while addressing to a joint press conference along External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj, made the announcement in Beijing.
Yi also said China will ensure the informal summit between the two leaders will demonstrate as a point of reference in the relations of the two nations.
"We will ensure that the informal summit (between PM Modi and Chinese President Jinping on April 27-28) will be an entire achievement and a point of reference in China-India relations," said Wang.
The informal summit is being seen as a move by the two nations to recover their ties on track following the Doklam remain off a year ago, wherein troops from the two countries were occupied with an eyeball-to-eyeball standoff close Sikkim border between June to August.
