New Delhi, Apr 25 Months after Delhi Metro fares were climbed, an ascent in metro stopping passages declared on Wednesday, is set to further burn a hole in the pockets of Delhiites.
For car parking, the rates have been changed from Rs 20 to Rs 30, from Rs 30 to Rs 40, and from Rs 40 to Rs 60.
For bike stopping, rates have been climbed up from Rs 10 to Rs 15, from Rs 15 to Rs 25, and from Rs 20 to Rs 30.
The changed rates will be viable from May 1.
"The Metro parking charges have not been changed throughout the previous five years and the present charges are especially lower than the stopping charges being exacted by Civic organizations for their parking areas," the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said in an official explanation.
"The Metro parking charges have not been changed throughout the previous five years and the present charges are especially lower than the parking charges being imposed by Civic offices for their parking areas. It is along these lines important to defend the Metro parking charges in perspective of higher charges by the Civic organizations," it included.
Be that as it may, the stopping rates had been amended in November 2017, also.
A notice by the DMRC, dated November 8, read, "The Metro stopping rates will be four times the common rates from tomorrow onwards to demoralize use of private vehicles inferable from pervasive climate conditions. The climb is according to the choice taken today in a gathering led by the Lt. Representative till encourage bearings."
Metro fares were hiked in October a year ago, much to the bother of suburbanites
