Beijing, Apr 24 External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday called for a peace process in war-ridden Afghanistan while reprimanding the United Nations Security Council for its powerlessness to deal with the contemporary security challenges.
Swaraj repeated the requirement for bringing reforms in the UNSC to have the capacity to respond to the consistently developing security challenges on the planet while concentrating on the security challenges looked in the war-ridden territories including Afghanistan.
"Since 2008, the international community has carefully supported the progressing Inter-Governmental Negotiations at the UN to take our exchanges on UNSC changes forward. A dominant part of individuals want to see these arrangements proceed based on a content." Swaraj said.
She said that reforms in the United Nations will be inadequate without changes in the UNSC, adding that the last should be illustrative of the contemporary substances.
"This to my psyche is the most critical undertaking before us on this imperative UN agenda," she included.
Earlier Swaraj urged the UNSC to make a move against such states which empower, support and back psychological warfare.
Sushma Swaraj is on a two-country visit to China and Mongolia.
