PM Modi says, Dr. Ambedkar's life was greatly affected by Lord Buddha

New Delhi, Apr 29 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday remembered Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and said that his life was incredibly affected by Lord Buddha.

During his 43rd edition of the monthly program 'Mann Ki Baat,' the Prime Minister said that Baba Saheb attempted to fortify the mistreated, misused, denied remaining on the brink of minimization through the Constitution of India.

"Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar stressed that Lord Buddha has been an awesome motivation in his social philosophy. There can't be a bigger example of compassion than this. This form of compassion was one of the best characteristics of Lord Buddha for the easing of affliction of the general population," the Prime Minister said.

Wishing the people over the world on the event of Buddha Purnima, the Prime Minister communicated satisfaction that India was an accomplice in the rebuilding of numerous Buddhist temples.

"I look for blessing from Lord Buddha for the entire world so we can satisfy our responsibility in building a peaceful and compassionate world in view of his teachings," he said.

"Buddha Purnima reminds us to remember the majority of our commitment to imitate Lord Buddha's teaching as well as, promise ourselves to take after his strides. Master Buddha was the origin of populism, peace, amicability and brotherhood. These are human values, which are most desired in the world today," he added.

Prime Minister Moldi also recalled the memorable Pokhran Tests of May 1998 and lauded the efforts of Indian scientists for its successful test.
