New Delhi, Apr 24 The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Tuesday began trials on the 8.10 km extend between Lajpat Nagar and Sir Vishweshwaraiah Moti Bagh area of the 59 km long Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar corridor (Line 7) of Phase-III, also called the Pink Line.
The trials were flagged off by Managing Director, DMRC, Mangu Singh.
During the trials, the interface of the Metro prepare will be checked to guarantee that there is no physical encroachment with common foundation during the development of the train on the track.
The new signalling technology, Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) and different subsystems of mentors will likewise be tried in the extend.
"The response of the train at different speeds, braking of the train and the interconnection with the Operations Control Center (OCC) will likewise be checked amid the trials. The conduct of the track system and the Over Head Electrification (OHE) will be checked more than once," read an authority DMRC discharge.
The 8.10 km stretch consists of six stations (one raised and five underground)- Sir Vishweshwaraih Moti Bagh (hoisted), Bhikaji Cama Place, Sarojini Nagar, INA, South Extension and Lajpat Nagar.
This stretch will be a continuation of the as of now operational 21.56 km extend from Majlis Park-Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus.
There will also be two interchange stations for this stretch - INA (Yellow Line) and Lajpat Nagar (Violet Line).
The 59 km-long Pink Line will be the first line in the DMRC system to connect all the other existing lines.
