Kamal Haasan's message to Modi asking for justice to Tamil Nadu Cauvery issue

Chennai, Apr 12 Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan on Thursday recorded an open message for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking for justice to Tamil Nadu over the Cauvery water dispute.

Taking to his Twitter handle, the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) Chief stated, "Sir, I am sure you know about the crisis that is gripping Tamil Nadu over the Cauvery water. I accept, from your past experience, you could without much of a stretch convey equity on account of Narmada River Water Board."

Haasan further stated, people of the state trust that there is a deferral in Cauvery water issue as a result of the up and coming decisions in Karnataka that are booked to happen on May 12.

"I need this belief to be dissipated. People are more imperative than races," he included.

Haasan requested that Modi take after the Supreme Court judgment, and furthermore presented an open letter on the Prime priest, in which he expressed "I am certain you will satisfy your obligation towards the general population and agriculturists of Tamil Nadu by constituting the Cauvery water Management Board promptly."

On February 16, the court had requested the Central government to set up the Cauvery water Management Board (CMB) and Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC) inside a month and a half, with respect to the Cauvery River water debate between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The Center's failure to constitute CMB prompted different challenges in Tamil Nadu. Prior today, resistance parties held a dark banner challenge against the Prime Minister's visit to the city without constituting the CMB.
