Iran to hand over Chabahar Port to India within 1 month

New Delhi, Sept 7 Iran will hand over Chabahar Port" Chabahar Port to India for task and upkeep purposes inside multi month, Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi said on Friday.

Akhoundi said that a contract has already been signed and things are moving forward at a good pace.

"We think the Chabahar port will be given to Indian specialists inside multi month. It is as of now working and will be given over for administration and task purposes," the Iranian Minister said.

Reacting to reports about the USA's intercession in India's oil imports from Iran, Akhoundi named USA as an untouchable and underlined the requirement for reinforcing of the connection between New Delhi and Tehran.

"India and Iran's relationship is fundamental for district and we are taking a gander at approaches to cooperate. The USA is an outcast in the locale, so the insiders should meet up and proceed with their friendship," he said.

The Chabahar port complex is required to make ready for many dollars in exchange and is being created as a major aspect of another transportation passageway for arrive bolted Afghanistan.

Both India and Iran signed to an agreement worth USD 85 million to build up the port in south-eastern Iran.

The agreement, which was marked within the sight of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, gives operational control of Shahid Beheshti port (stage one of the Chabahar port) to India.
