PM Modi discloses mobility road map, looks for investments in e-vehicles manufacturing

New Delhi, Sep 7 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday unveiled a mobility guide that looks for interests in assembling electric vehicles and increased use of public transport for travel, saying congestion free mobility is basic to check financial and environmental costs of congestion.

The Indian economy, he stated, is the world's quickest developing significant economy that is building 100 brilliant urban areas and developing streets, airplane terminals, rail lines and ports at a greater pace

Speaking at the Global Mobility Summit 'MOVE', he said clean mobility powered by clean energy is the most powerful weapon to fight climate change.

"This means a pollution-free clean drive, leading clean air and better expectations for everyday comforts for our kin. We should advocate 'clean kilometers'

"My vision for the eventual fate of versatility in India depends on 7 Cs: normal, associated, advantageous, clog free, charged, spotless, front line," he said.

The focus must be to go past autos to different vehicles, such as scooters and rickshaws, Modi said.

"Common public transport must be the foundation of our versatility activities."

The Prime Minister called for utilizing the maximum capacity for vehicle pooling to enhance private vehicle usage.

"Congestion-free mobility is basic to check the economic and environmental costs of congestion," he said

Mobility should be safe, reasonable and open for all segments of the general public, he said

Stating that charged mobility is the way forward, the Prime Minister said the administration needs to drive ventures over the esteem affix from batteries to smart charging to electric vehicle manufacturing

"We have to guarantee that open transport is wanted to private methods of movement," he said.

"The Internet-enabled Connected Sharing Economy is emerging as the fulcrum of mobility."

Mobility, he stated, is a key driver of the economy. "Better mobility reduces the weight of movement and transportation, and can support financial development. It is already a major employer and can create the next generation of jobs."

Talking on his government's achievements, he stated, the pace of development of highways has multiplied, provincial street building program has been re-stimulated, eco-friendly and cleaner fuel vehicles are being advanced and ease air network in under-served locales is being produced.
