Prime Minister Modi calls for anemia free India

New Delhi, Sept 11 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called for anemia-free India and emphasized the need to expedite the pace of reduction in anemia cases by three times each year, rather than current 1 percent.

"Anemia is a major issue. Many individuals in the nation are victims of anemia. This disease is caused by lack of components like iodine and iron. Despite the fact that the use of iodised salt has increased over the last few years, the instances of anemia are decreasing by only 1 percent consistently. The government has decided that this pace should be tripled under the National Nutrition Mission," Prime Minister Modi said while connecting with Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA), ANM and Anganwadi specialists by means of NaMo application.

"Every one of you will finish this goals of anemia free India energetically. Making India to free of anemia means giving life to lakhs of pregnant women and children," he added.

The Prime Minister said that the central government has "focused on perspectives relating to nutrition and quality healthcare".

"Vaccination efforts are on at a quick pace. This helps ladies and kids specifically," he said.

Prime Minister Modi later expressed his thanks towards those doctors who are treating pregnant ladies for free.

"At first, an ASHA worker used to visit a child six times in 42 days after his/her birth, now we have increased that time to 15 months. ASHA worker will visit the child for 11 times in these 15 months," he included.

The nation will slow down if the children of the nation are weak, the Prime Minister said.

"Technology has eased many of our difficulties today. Technology has become an important part of our lives. Our telephone has answers to many inquiries. The administration is contacting every one of the citizens of the nation through a variety of facilities," Prime Minister Modi stated.

"The Government of India is devoting topmost importance to the health sector. The central government is making various strides for the welfare of the ASHA, ANM and Anganwadi workers. ," he included
