Shiv Sena seeks PM Modi's reaction on General Bajwa's comment

New Delhi, Sep 8 The Shiv Sena on Saturday raised a sharp complaint to Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa's prompting comment about India and reproached the focal government for not making any firm strides with respect to the neighbouring nation.

In their editorial mouthpiece, Saamana, the Shiv Sena said that Islamabad's double face was clearly uncovered when, on one hand, Pakistan's recently sworn-in Prime Minister Imran Khan talked about peace, and then again, the Army Chief requested that his troops "avenge the blood of its soldiers being shed on the border".

In a veiled attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the article asked whether "the man with the 56-inch chest would strike back to the comment made by the Pakistani Army chief."

It further claimed that despite multiple such remarks, ceasefire violations, and fear monger assaults, the Indian government did "nothing with the exception of making statements."

"The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which drives the legislature at the Centre, criticises former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru at whatever point the issues of China, Pakistan, and Kashmir are raised. In any case, even they didn't make any stride against the neighbouring nation," the editorial further read.

On Friday, General Bajwa, while tending to the Defence Day work in Islamabad, had commended Pakistani troops over their penances for their country.

"I claud the people of Kashmir who have stood firm in such testing occasions. Our country will not forget our troops who set out their lives for this country. We will vindicate the blood of our warriors being shed on the border," he stated, while including that Pakistan had taken in a considerable measure from the 1965 and 1971 wars and developed its defence system in view of the same.

In contradiction, the Pakistan Prime Minister, at a similar occasion, reiterated his goal of accomplishing peace along the border.

In his first speech after being elected as the prime minister, the cricketer-turned-politician had said that he might want to have good relations with India and work to resolve all outstanding issues through dialogue.
