Odisha: PM Modi calls for 'parivartan', hits out at BJD's laidback attitude

Jharsuguda (Odisha), Sept 22 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called for "parivartan" (change) while attacking the Odisha's decision Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government for its laidback state of mind in guaranteeing "all-round and quick paced advancement".

Addressing public rally here in the wake of introducing new airport, named after freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai, Prime Minister Modi stated, "The pace of advancement of Odisha is moderate and the administration's readiness to change the state has been the same even today. This has turned into a hindrance for all-round advancement. Odisha is lingering behind because of this current government's laidback attitude."

Stressing that the whole nation is progressing under the BJP-led government, he stated, "Isliye Odisha mein ek parivartan ka samay aa gaya hain. Yeh parivartan hello there apki aashao-umeedo ko pura karne ka kaam karega (So the time has wanted change in Odisha. These progressions will work to satisfy your expectations and desires)." He also included that his government is working to improve the road, rail, water and air availability in the state.

Stepping up the attack on the state government, the Prime Minister stated, "From water system to horticulture, from co-agent offices to street developments, there are tricks all over. This is influencing the general population of the state. In what manner will Odisha create in such a circumstance?"

He further informed that work on the Jharsuguda-Barpali-Sardega rail interface has started, which will connect the ancestral territories of the state out of the blue with whatever is left of the nation.

Targeting on the past government, for stalling the rail project, Prime Minister Modi stated, "The work started in 2006. Be that as it may, when Congress was at the Center, under 30 for every penny of the work was finished. After the arrangement of the BJP government, in any case, more than 70 percent work was done over the most recent four years, and today I commit this course to the people of Odisha."

Prime Minister Modi, who is on a day's visit to the state, prior in the day laid the foundation stone of Talcher Fertilizer Plant. Odisha is slated to go for assembly elections one year from now.
