Panaji, Sep 27 The Congress Thursday said no political party should support extremist groups, days after the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party batted for the Sanatan Sanstha claiming the conservative outfit was not associated with killings of pragmatists and activists.
All India Congress Committee secretary A Chellakumar said his party has always been against creating division in society.
"All political parties should avoid fanatic gatherings, regardless of whether they are of religious or some other nature," All India Congress Committee secretary A Chellakumar told.
One can't support any extremist group, said the Goa Congress in-control.
MGP president Dipak Dhavalikar guaranteed Sunday that there are a few people who need to extend the Sanatan Sanstha as a "transgressor".
Police presume inclusion of activists connected to the Sanatan Sanstha in the killings of realists Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare, M Kalburgi and Gauri Lankesh.
Be that as it may, the outfit, which has its base camp at Ramnathi town in Madkai territory of North Goa locale, has denied its association in these cases.
MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar, the brother of Dipak Dhavalikar, is a MLA from the Madkai constituency.
The MGP, Goa's oldest regional party, is an alliance partner of the BJP-led government in the coastal state.
