Panaji, Sep 28 Vice President Venkaiah Naidu Friday said that "English mind" is a disease, and not the dialect, and expressed the nation ought to be pleased with its rich eritage.
Naidu's statement came in the background of specific remarks credited to him. Some area of the media had quoted Naidu as saying "English is an illness deserted by the British" amid a Hindi Day event held in New Delhi early this month.

"We should leave this attitude. We should feel glad for our legacy, our past and our extraordinary pioneers of this nation," the VP included.
Naidu reviewed that India never assaulted any nation, yet it was "destroyed" by trespassers.
"They (invaders) ruled us, they demolished us. Not just they demolished us monetarily, they destroyed us rationally moreover. A portion of the general population are experiencing that infection," he said.
The VP demanded that Indians must return to its underlying foundations.

Naidu also exhorted them to save India's way of life and regard nature.

Naidu said as the director of the Rajya Sabha he has executed "little" changes in the Upper House.
"Give us a chance to give up the frontier minds. I have done some little changes in the Rajya Sabha. At the point when any pastor needed to lay paper on the table they used to state 'I ask to table'. I said asking whom. I said we should state 'I present a paper or lay on the table'.
"We say great morning, great evening, goodbye. I have no issue. We say great morning or great evening regardless of whether it is great or terrible. The route is to state 'namaskar'. Namaskar is our 'sanskar' (values). The plain motion of 'namaskar' originates from heart," he said.
Naidu said individuals from a family should try to talk in their primary language.
