Pakistani Army damages truce in Poonch

Jammu, Jun 3 The Pakistani Army damaged truce again by firing mortar shells on forward posts and civilian areas along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch area, provoking Indian troops to strike back.

"The Pakistani Army started aimless terminating of little arms, automatics, 82 mm and 120 mm mortars from 2300 hours yesterday along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch segment," a defence representative said.

He said that the Indian Army posts were retaliating strongly and effectively and firing was underway, he added.

In the mean time, Pakistan's outside service asserted that two of its villagers were harmed in terminating by the Indian Army.

On June 1, a civilian was slaughtered and four others, including a BSF jawan, were harmed when the Pakistani Army targeted forward zones along the LoC in Rajouri and Pooch areas, provoking countering by the Indian troops.

Five Pakistani fighters were accounted for to have been murdered and some other harmed in Indian Army's retaliatory activity along the Nowshera and Krishnagati segments.

Whole VIPs of the Indian Army headed by the Army chief and seven leaders, including all corps commandants of Jammu and Kashmir, held a meeing in Srinagar to audit the circumstance in hinterland and borders on the same day.
