Kolkata, Jun 21 The International Yoga Day was today celebrated by the Army, Navy, Air Force and NCC at different foundations here and a few different places in the eastern and north eastern states.
All stations of Army's Eastern Command incorporating units deployed in counter uprising and those along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in forward areas observed the International Yoga Day by honing different yoga postures and exercises, a Defence representative said here.
The main event was led at the Eastern Command home office in Fort William, where the risk of a deluge constrained the direct of the occasion inside.
A great many troops partook in the occasion over the Command theatre, the representative said.
Local people from close-by areas and students of various schools, who participated in large numbers, were urged to develop yoga as a method for living.
The Navy sorted out a workshop directed by proficient yoga teachers in which around 150 administration faculty of INS Netaji Subhash and unified units went to.
At the Advance HQ of Eastern Air Command in Kolkata, all work force and their families partaken in the yoga sessions.
Around 6,500 NCC cadets under the aegis of NCC Directorate West Bengal and Sikkim taken an interest in yoga sessions at Brigade Parade Ground (Maidan) and Tarakeshwar Degree College, the representative said.
The general cooperation from NCC remained at around 39,000 cadets, officers, teachers and other staff at 101 venues, including schools and colleges, in West Bengal and Sikkim, he said.
