IIT Kharagpur to honor its faculty members

Kharagpur (WB), Jun 17 The IIT Kharagpur today declared Chair Professorship Awards and Faculty Excellence Awards for senior, mid-level and newly joined employees with an end goal to perceive their work in instructing and research.

The institute has reported two Chair Professorship Awards for senior professors and seven Faculty Excellence Awards of which three will be given to partner teachers and four to assistant teachers, two of them having joined as of late.

The professors will be awarded on the premise of understudies' input on their teaching, peer acknowledgment through national and international awards, research yield, for example, papers and references, doctoral direction, research and development activities in terms of sponsored research and industrial consultancy, patents and technologies developed, among others.

"Such recognition of faculty excellence not just prompts higher motivational variable among the academic communities additionally encourages students to exceed expectations and advances the institute's brand thus attracting brighter student," IIT Kharagpur Director Professor PP Chakrabarti said.
