Author looks for assistance from PM to complete project on music in ancient India

New Delhi, Jun 27 Composer and musicologist Shail Vyas today wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi looking for help for the successful completion of a project on "Music in Ancient India".

Established in 2011, 'songs of Mystery', attempts to discover and recreate music and musical instruments from Indus Valley Civilization, Vedic, Ramayana, Mahabharata and later times in India.

"This driven mission to reproduce the incredible journey of Indian music can't prevail without your assistance. It is my humble and hopeful demand to you to kindly give an appointment for just 12 minutes out of your very busy schedule.

"I understand the seriousness of my request very well however it is critical for the fruitful finishing of the venture. Your dynamic inclusion will take it higher than ever for which, me as well as Indian music will perpetually be thankful to you," Vyas wrote in the letter.

The project in its first phase has already finished models of 10 instruments like the Nandi Veena and Kumbha Tarangini from the Indus Saraswati Civilization.

It has additionally identified more than 30 ancient instruments from different time periods with help of experts on archaeology, music and history who have come on board.

The organisers also posted a video alongside the PDF of the letter sent to the PM on Twitter.
