Wi-fi office set up at 1,000 hotspots in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Jun 20 The Telangana government today propelled 'Hyderabad City Wi-Fi' extend, giving the remote systems administration innovation at more than 1,000 public places in the city.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor B Rammohan, who launched the project, said it will in the long run cover around 3,000 hotspots in the city.

Telangana IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said 3,000 public locations were distinguished in the city. The system has now been introduced at 1,000 hotspots with a guaranteed bandwidth of 5-10 Mbps offering 30 minutes of free wi-fi. The staying 2,000 spots will be covered in next three months.

The entire project is being taken off at a cost of around Rs 300 crore, he said including that the cash has been invested by the business.

In June 2015, under the 'Advanced Telangana' umbrella, the government had propelled the pilot version of the 'Hyderabad City Wi-Fi' project.

In light of its prosperity, the administration chosen to scale up the venture to cover more than 3,000 areas crosswise over Hyderabad, through industry cooperation.

The venture will be likewise be reached out to Telangana's Warangal, Karimnagar and Khammam regions, Ranjan said.
