New Delhi, Jun 22 India is working with ASEAN to develop "regional security architecture" in the Asia Pacific with the point of finding synergistic answers for rising and non-conventional difficulties, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said today.
Talking about different parts of India's vital association with the intense coalition, Swaraj said ASEAN-India trade was back on track after two years of slow development with an increase of 8 per cent in 2016-17.
In her address on India-ASEAN association at the Research and Information System, a research organization, the minister recorded terror financing, arms pirating, human trafficking, illegal tax avoidance and cyber crime as significant difficulties confronting the locale. India and ASEAN, she included, had been attempting to battle them.
"India has been working with ASEAN towards developing provincial security engineering in the Asia Pacific that depends on accentuating the serene settlement of debate, finding community answers for rising and non-conventional difficulties, and support for the centrality of ASEAN."
Enhancing maritime cooperation and security had been a zone of centre for both ASEAN and India, she said.
Talking about financial ties, she said the coalition had turned into India's fourth biggest trading accomplice, representing 10 per cent of total trade.
As per Swaraj, India was effectively occupied with Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership transactions including ASEAN and its six FTA accomplices, which, when concluded, would be the biggest territorial exchanging game plan, representing around 40 per cent of world exchange.

Swaraj discussed India's social connections and in addition the impact of Hinduism in some ASEAN countries.
"Thailand joins huge components from Hinduism in its architecture, expressions, form move, show and writing. The Cham temple complex of My Son Wat in Vietnam is committed to Bhadreshvara, an incarnation of the Lord Shiva.
