Kiren Rijiju: North East can wind up noticeably restorative centre for South East Asia

Guwahati, Jun 10 The North East district of the nation can possibly turn into a medicinal services centre for South East Asia, Union minister Kiren Rijiju said today.

"We can make a medical hub in the North East for our neighbours... Myanmar people need to come to North East for restorative treatment and a couple are coming to Dibrugarh (in Assam)," the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs said while hailing of a rescue vehicle benefit propelled by Hindustan Prefab Ltd.

"We will introduce the Moreh Integrated Check Post (ICP) in August," he said.

"We are presently nearer to the mix of South East Asian countries," the minister said.

"There are some good facilities in Guwahati and Dibrugarh however ther than the two urban areas, the situation in the whole North East is bad," he said.

While good approaches from government were expected to enhance the situation, he spoke to the corporates to approach and open restorative offices in the district.

Accentuating on public and private commitment in creating restorative foundation, Rijiju said without improvement of therapeutic offices, society can't create.

"We have to do a great deal more. Just government support won't suffice. Many important companies around the world make huge commitment as a feature of CSR exercises.

I have called the companies, particularly the Navratna companies, to turn out and help the destitute people," he included.

Medical care to us, yet because of absence of foundation, we lose lives. I feel pitiful when our provincial people don't get restorative offices," Rijiju said.
