Maharashtra to spend Rs 4.5 cr to get Deendayal Upadhyaya's books

Mumbai, Jun 16 The Maharashtra government will spend Rs 4.5 crore to get 10,000 duplicates of works of Jana Sangh author Deendayal Upadhyaya which would be circulated to more than 400 libraries in the state.

An administration determination said this was being done as a piece of festivity of Upadhyaya's introduction to the world centennial year.

The Centre is observing Upadhyaya's birth centenary year as `Garib Kalyan Varsh'.

"His all consuming purpose exemplified in books can be a noteworthy wellspring of motivation to the poor youth in rual areas," the GR said.
