Srinagar, Jun 24 Jammu and Kashmir Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti today respected the Center's decision to include Srinagar and Jammu into the list of smart cities to be produced under the Smart City program on present day lines.
Mehbooba named the choice of the Union government as "memorable" which would "proclaim another period of arranged, cutting edge and eco-accommodating advancement of the two capital urban areas".
She said with the consideration of the two urban areas of the state into the rundown of shrewd urban areas, a major guarantee of the PDP-BJP coalition government stands satisfied.
The choice to incorporate the two urban areas in the rundown of shrewd urban areas was declared by the Union minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu in New Delhi yesterday.
The chief minister coordinated the concerned bureaus of Housing and Urban Development to begin working in quick mode for implementing on ground the keen city extends in the two urban communities keeping in mind the end goal to give quality living to its kin at the soonest, as guaranteed by the two coalition parties.
The smart cities' venture intends to enhance the personal satisfaction of people in urban areas by enabling local area development and harnessing technology , particularly innovation that prompts keen results.
Region based improvement is expected to transform existing areas into better planned ones, accordingly enhancing reasonableness of the whole cities.
Huge greenfield spaces would be produced around urban communities to improve the green cover and also avenues of entertainment and other social movement would be made under the plan.
The plan would empower urban communities to utilize innovation, data and information to improve infrastructure and services.
Comprehensive development in this way will enhance personal satisfaction, make business and improve earnings for all, particularly poor people and the disadvantaged, prompting comprehensive inclusive cities.
