Mamata Banerjee: I won't permit division of Bengal

Burdwan (WB, June 29 Amid the progressing blend in the Darjeeling slopes for cutting out a different "Gorkhaland" out of West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today solidly precluded advance division of the state.

"Bengal can't be partitioned. I won't permit it," she said at an open meeting here.

Banerjee likewise had an apparent dig at the Center, saying "They can't handle Kashmir. They are peeping (into Darjeeling)."

She stated, "Whatever be the connivance, we will battle unitedly."

Banerjee had before expressed that the unsettling for Gorkhaland, being led by the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, was a "profound established intrigue" and bolstered by radical gatherings of the Northeast and some foreign countries.
