P Chidambaram questions Narendra Modi government for US comments on Jammu and Kashmir

New Delhi, Jun 28 Former home minister P Chidambaram today questioned the Narendra Modi government over the US describing Jammu and Kashmir as "Indian administered" in an official explanation and asked how New Delhi acknowledged it.

The US State Department's announcement had come hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first meeting with President Donald Trump in Washington.

"US' official proclamation used the expression 'Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir'. How did India accept this?" the Congress pioneer asked in a tweet.

On Monday, while assigning Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin a Specially Designated Global Terrorist, the US State Department said the militant group had guaranteed duty regarding a few assaults, including the April 2014 explosives assault in "Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir", which harmed 17 people.
