Judges' rebellion: Subramanian Swamy says PM Modi ought to mediate

New Delhi, Jan 12 Senior pioneer of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Subramanian Swamy, on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi must intercede in the matter of four senior Supreme Court judges opening up to the world about protests against the Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra.

Swamy said, "We can't criticise them (the four judges). They are men of great integrity and have relinquished a great deal of their legitimate profession, where they could have profited as senior direction. We should regard them. Presently when these four have raised these issues, at that point the Prime Minister ought to intercede in the issue as the leader of the governance."

In an exceptional question and answer session prior on Friday, the four judges-Justices Madan B Lokur, Kurien Joseph, Ranjan Gogoi and J Chelameswar-said that "things are not all together" at the Supreme Court.

Swamy said that the senior judges have taken an awesome jump in the interest of the country and "the Prime Minister must guarantee that the four judges and the Chief Justice of India, in truth entire Supreme Court should come to one conclusion and proceed further."
