Congress: Thakur not the youngest chief minister of Himachal

Dharamshala, Jan 13 Refuting the BJP's claim to have the youngest chief minister in Himachal Pradesh, the Congress today said it had more youthful chief ministers in the state.

Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur is 53-years of age, while Y S Parmar was 45 when he accepted CMs office, Ram Lal was 48, Shanta Kumar was only 42, Vir Bhadra Singh was 49 and P K Dhumal was 53, senior Congress pioneer and MLA Asha Kumari said in the thirteenth Himachal Pradesh Assembly yesterday.

The MLA also pummeled the government for not deciphering the Governor's discourse appropriately amid the swearing-in function.

"The translation of the Governor's discourse from Hindi to English was likewise not checked appropriately," Kumari said.
