Advisor to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal leaves

New Delhi, Mar 13 V K Jain, the advisor to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has resigned refering to individual reasons and family responsibilities, days after he was addressed by police regarding the claimed strike on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, sources said today.

"Jain has surrendered from the post of consultant to the Delhi boss priest refering to individual reasons and family responsibility," one of the sources told PTI.

He has submitted his resignation letter in the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) and sent a duplicate to the lieutenant governor, the source included.

He was appointed to the post in September a year ago, days after he had retired as the CEO of the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB). The board is led by Kejriwal.

Jain had not been going to the CMO since the incident and had gone on seven days in length medicinal leave, the sources said.

Prakash was allegedly assaulted by AAP MLAs amid a gathering at the central clergyman's habitation at night of February 19.

The Delhi Police had a week ago told a court that amid cross examination, Jain revealed that AAP MLAs Prakash Jarwal and Amanatullah Khan encompassed the central secretary and saw them attacking him at Kejriwal's home.

In any case, Jain had prior said that he didn't consider anything to be he had gone to the washroom at the season of the episode.

The alleged attack on Prakash took place in the sight of Kejriwal and his delegate Manish Sisodia.

In solidarity with Prakash, IAS and Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Services (DCS) officers have not been going to meetings with AAP ministers, and just keeping up written communication with them.

The joint forum of the Delhi government workers has requested activity against Kejriwal and Sisodia in connection with the case.
