Ananth Kumar: BJP prepared to confront 'no-confidence' motion

New Delhi, Mar 19 Union minister of Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar on Monday said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is "prepared to confront the no-confidence motion" to be moved by the YSR Congress in Lok Sabha.

YSR Congress which is opposition party in Andhra Pradesh on March 18 gave a notice to the Lok Sabha General-Secretary trying to move a no-certainty movement in the Lower House against the Center for its refusal to allow unique class status to Andhra Pradesh.

Kumar stated, "We are prepared to confront no-confidence movement as we have support in the House. We are confident."

However, the Opposition couldn't move the no-certainty movement as the Lower House was adjoured.

While the Communist Party of India (CPI) expanded their help for the no-certainty movement, Shiv Sena said that they would neither help the Government nor the Opposition yet would go without.

The Opposition party in Andhra Pradesh has been challenging in the Parliament over the non-issuance of exceptional classification status to the state.

The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP), too, reached a deadlock with its ally BJP over this issue and at last quit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coalition on Friday.
