Finance Bill passed in Lok Sabha

New Delhi, Mar 14 Amid uproar by the Opposition parties, the Finance Bill, 2018, was passed here in Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

This takes after a monstrous discontent communicated in the Lower House of Parliament by individuals from different political gatherings on Tuesday, contradicting the Central government's turn to pass the Finance Bill without an exchange in the House.

In a letter addressed to Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, the MPs requested a discourse on the Bill.

As indicated by the letter, the death of the Bill without a dialog was named as the central government's "arrogant" and "one-sided" move to bulldoze all the Finance business with no talk on the floor of the House.

For the unversed, a Finance Bill is displayed in Parliament alongside the Annual Financial Statement in lieu of fulfilling the requirement of Article 110 (1)(a) of the Constitution, specifying the inconvenience, cancelation, reduction, adjustment or control of expenses proposed in the Union Budget.

The Finance Bill also contains different arrangements identified with the Budget, which can be classified as a Money Bill.
